Taking Care of Your Mental Health

October 10th was World Mental Health Day, and we asked the URBANYEG community what they do to take care of their own mental wellbeing. It’s important to recognize that for many people, every day is Mental Health Day. A month later, we’re resharing some of those responses because we believe in the importance of self care.


“Working out, meditating, playing guitar.”

EMDR sessions for trauma processing.”

“Weekly therapy sessions.”

“Bike riding.”

“Arts and crafts.”

“Taking my camera out and going for walks.”

“Volunteering.”

“Headphones and music.”

“Journalling.”

“Headspace app.”

“Going to the movie theatre alone.”

“Booking a doctor’s appointment.”


Self care looks different for everyone. There’s no one-size-fits all solution and it can take time to figure out what works best for you. What matters is finding a healthy way to manage your mental wellbeing.
